FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  1. DOES IT HURT?

While getting a tattoo can be uncomfortable, we do everything we can to ensure you feel comfortable during your session. It’s uncomfortable, but everyone has a different pain tolerance and each place on the body feels different to each person.

  2. HOW MUCH IS MY TATTOO GOING TO COST?

The cost of each tattoo varies depending on the artist, type of tattoo, size, color, etc. Some artists charge hourly and some give a set price based on the piece. The best way to get a price estimate would be to stop in for a consultation. We’re always more than happy to meet with you and discuss your tattoo!

  3. CAN YOU GIVE ME A PRICE OVER THE PHONE?

In order to ensure the clients expectations are met and there is a clear understanding of how we can provide the best experience for you, we do not give prices for tattoos over the phone. As mentioned previously, please stop in any time for a consultation.

  4. WHY DO YOU REQUIRE DEPOSITS?

A deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment date and time, ensure the artist will have your artwork ready, and it serves to hold the artist and the client accountable for the session. A lot more work goes in to your tattoo before the day of your appointment. Deposits are 100% non-refundable.

  5. WHAT IS THE AGE REQUIREMENT FOR TATTOOS/PIERCINGS?

You must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid photo ID. In accordance with the law we have a strict No Minors policy. No exceptions.

  6. SHOULD I WALK IN OR BOOK AN APPOINTMENT AHEAD OF TIME/HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

Feeling spontaneous? Walk-ins are welcome! If you would like to secure a date and time with a specific artist, making an appointment ahead of time is your best bet. To book an appointment, feel free to stop by or contact us!

  7. WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

Gallery of Ink and its affiliated artists require at least 24 HOURS notice of cancellation in order to reschedule you using your existing deposit. If you leave a deposit and no longer wish to get the tattoo done, your deposit will NOT be refunded. No call / no shows / same day cancellations forfeit your deposit and require you to leave a new deposit to make any future appointments. If your tattoo appointment takes more than one session, your deposited amount will be deducted from the price of the final session. A deposit is valid for 1 year from the date the deposit was made. This deposit is for the tattoo described in the intake form/during the consultation and any dramatic changes to your design idea are not covered by this deposit and will result in a change of the estimated price given during the initial consultation. Please keep in mind we depend on appointments and put hard work into drawing for you and securing a set schedule. Deposits are 100% non-refundable and no exceptions will be made.

  8. WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM LATE TO MY APPOINTMENT OR DO NOT SHOW UP?

We ask that you please be on time for your appointment, possibly be here a few minutes early to fill out paperwork. Many times our artists will have other appointments during the day, and a late appointment can set the whole day back. Please be considerate of our schedules, as we work hard to make ourselves available for everyone. Lateness cuts into your tattoo time, and may mean you don’t get a completely finished piece. If you’re more than 15 minutes late it is up to your artists discretion to keep your deposit. If you know you’ll be late please call the shop and contact your artist as soon as you know!

  9. WHAT IS THE SHOP MINIMUM FOR TATTOOS?

    Shop minimum is $100.00.

  10. IS IT OKAY TO GET TATTOOED IF I AM SICK?

No. First and foremost, we want to make sure you are in good health and that your tattoo heals well. Second, sick happens, we understand, but it is common courtesy to reschedule an appointment in an effort to keep your artist and everyone else in the shop in good health. As our schedules fill up quickly, as much advanced notice as possible is greatly appreciated.
